Mogami-class frigate (30FFM)
Mogami-Class Frigate (30FFM): Japan’s Next-Generation Stealth Multi-Mission Warship
Mogami-class frigate (30FFM) represents Japan’s new generation of highly automated, stealth-oriented, multi-mission surface combatants developed for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). The class is designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), and limited air-defense missions, emphasizing reduced crew size, modular payload capability, and network-centric operations.
Overview
The Mogami class is intended to replace older destroyer escorts and mine countermeasure vessels, providing a flexible and cost-effective platform. High-level automation allows the ship to operate efficiently with a significantly smaller crew while maintaining modern combat effectiveness.
