Admiral gorshkov frigate is 135 m long, 16 m wide, has a draft of 4.5 m and a displacement of 4550 registered tons . Two diesel engines of 3.9 MW for cruising speed and two gas turbines of 20.5 MW for acceleration drive two propellers up to 54.6 km/h and up to 7400 km range. The crew numbers 210 men.

Build

Severnaja Verf in St. Petersburg laid the keel on 1 February 2006 and launched the frigate on 29 October 2010.

The frigate is named after Hero of the Soviet Union Admiral Sergei Gorshkov.

Testing

From 23 to 25 December 2017, Admiral Gorshkov tested in the North Sea off Great Britain, with the British frigate HMS St Albans F83 following. 

The frigate entered service with the Northern Fleet based in Severomorsk on 28 July 2018 with pennant number 417.

On July 29, 2018, Admiral Gorshkov took part in the annual fleet parade off St. Petersburg.

Travel around the world

Together with a tanker Kama , a logistics support ship Elbrus and a tug Nikolai Chiker, The Admiral Gorshkov sailed past Djibouti , Colombo , Qingdao , Vladivostok , Puerto Bolívar , Havana   , Praia , Kronstadt and Severomorsk . 

Zircon

In early January 2020, Admiral Gorshkov launched a 3M22 Zirkon hypersonic anti from the Barents Sea . A test launch followed in the White Sea in October . On 19 February 2021, Admiral Gorshkov exercised in the Barents Sea. On 28 May 2022, Admiral Gorshkov struck a target in the White Sea with a 3M22 Zirkon from the Barents Sea.
